WOUND PACKING TRAINING (WP-2):
The WOUND PACKING TRAINER is a new generation STOP THE BLEED training trainer. This is a cross-sectional view of Aix Medical (WP-II), which simulates blood flowing through a conduit into the wound and out through three bleeding points. Wound packing involves tightly packing gauze into the wound and applying pressure to control bleeding.
ADVANTAGES:
Other brands of wound packing trainers only have one wound and one bleeding point. However, after repeated training, trainees often learn to block the fixed bleeding point with their fingers, thus bypassing the correct packing process. To ensure trainees are properly trained in wound packing STOP THE BLEED, the WP-2 features multiple bleeding points. This enhances the trainees' skills in wound packing STOP THE BLEED training.

Wound packing :
When the wound is deep or large, or when it is located at the junction of the trunk, consider using the technique of wound packing (junctional hemorrhage control). It is recommended to use gauze containing hemostatic agents. When practicing on a model, regular continuous gauze can be used. First, wrap several turns of gauze around the finger that will enter the wound deeply to protect it from being stabbed by bone fragments. Then, insert the gauze into the wound in the direction closest to the heart, pack the gauze tightly, and apply pressure to the wound from above to control bleeding. This technique requires multiple practices and is crucial for quickly managing various types of injuries and reducing blood loss. This technique has been incorporated into the TECC/TCCC training program.
When employing any other first aid techniques, it's essential to remain vigilant and undergo appropriate training while being mindful of potential risks and complications.
